Melsted Badehotel is Bornholm's first seaside hotel dating back to 1932. It is located completely undisturbed on its own 18,000 sqm idyllic beach plot, directly on Melsted Strand on the east coast of Bornholm within walking distance to Gudhjem.

We have extensive experience in hotel management both in Denmark and South Africa, where we run Nyati Safari Lodge. Common to Nyati Safari Lodge and our ambitions for Melsted Badehotel is the consistent Scandinavian quality, where magnificent nature, exclusive vacation accommodation, exquisite gastronomy, exciting activities and a high level of service are linked. We want to create a holistic experience that guests come back for again and again.
Our goal is to create Bornholm's best seaside hotel. Based on the seaside hotel's high standard and iconic appearance, the interior has been renovated in a classic style with respect for the hotel's basic DNA and zeitgeist. And most importantly, we have found the best team to pamper you here at the water's edge both in the restaurant and at the seaside hotel.

We want to create a locally rooted seaside hotel based on the natural surroundings, history, and local environment in and around Gudhjem. Hospitality plays a central role here and is a cornerstone of the experience we want to give our guests—with attentiveness, consideration, and respect for both the place and those who visit it.
At Melsted Badehotel, our ambition is for our guests to feel at home, experience Bornholm at its best, and want to return. Our approach to hospitality is based on high professionalism, personal attention, and a sincere desire to create safe and memorable stays. Through our knowledge of the island, the seasons, and the small details that make a difference, we strive to give each guest a warm and welcoming experience here by the water's edge.

Charlotte is paired daily with our head chef Martin Nick Hansen, who is one of the island's most experienced restaurateurs. Together they are responsible for Restaurant Melsted Badehotel. Martin has an unrivaled understanding of taste and a thorough knowledge of the Bornholm pantry, so we dare to promise that the dining experience at Melsted Badehotel will reach new heights, so together we can ensure our guests a total experience in a class of its own here in Bornholm's best location.
The cuisine is based on classic Nordic-French traditions with plenty of fresh seafood. For lunch, you can enjoy Bornholm-inspired cuisine with a selection of well-prepared dishes based on seasonal ingredients. In the evening, you can enjoy our 5-course waterfront menu, which changes daily and is based on Bornholm's rich pantry. The breakfast buffet also varies daily with a delicious selection of local specialties, fresh fruit, berries, homemade pastries and small hot dishes.
We're also looking forward to hosting special events such as our famous seafood dinners every Wednesday throughout the summer. With Martin & Charlotte at the helm, we hope that pampering at the water's edge will take on a whole new meaning.
